Laundry Room Painting On A Budget In Scappoose, OR
When you are considering how your laundry room looks and the way that it overall appearsřcompared to the rest of the house, you may realize for example that the walls would be better if they were more newly painted.
However, just because you want to paint your laundry room doesn't mean you should forget some of the important aspects of a painting project that are most often not discussed, such as the budget of said project.
The good thing that you should know is that there are things that you can do to bring down the price of your laundry room painting project and if you stick with them, you can make for a good looking laundry room as well.
Let's look today at some tips for laundry room painting on a budget for when you want a nicely painted laundry room.
1. Use Improperly Tinted Paint
One thing that you can do in order to bring down the price of your laundry room painting project is to look at the possibility of using improperly tinted paint rather than full price paint.
What will happen sometimes is that an order will come to a paint store for a certain tint of paint and if the customer finds that tint not to be to their liking, they are not obligated to purchase it.
In wanting to still sell the paint, the paint store will reduce the price which will get you that same paint at a better price point -- but there is one caveat.
This is specifically that you are not going to be able to choose what color you are going to get, so you will have to work with the selection that is available to you.
2. Primer First
A somewhat lesser known way to save money on your painting project is to make sure that you use a coat of primer before you apply the first coat of paint.
Though it's a bit less obvious how this is the kind of thing that would save you money on your painting project, it absolutely does if you look over the larger scope of the life of a painting project.
The benefit of applying a coat of primer in terms of extending the life of your painting and lowering the cost of your project comes from the fact that paint that goes on primer stays on longer as it has adhesive properties than a surface without such adhesive properties.
Another lovely benefit for using primer on your surfaces is that you will find that it is better at hiding stains than just applying multiple coats of paint.
3. Measure What You Are Painting
One of the simplest things that you can do to bring down the price of your painting project is to make sure that you measure the spaces that you are going to be painting.
By measuring these spaces, you are going to be well aware of how much paint and primer you will need for the project and so you will not buy too much or too little of either.
If you purchase too much paint, not only would you find yourself with paint and primer that will go unused but you are going to spend more money than you need to for either of these.
Conversely, if you purchase not enough paint or primer you will then have to inevitably pause your project to go to a paint store and purchase more, which will take up a good amount of your time and possibly cost you more money than had you gotten it in one go because of how the price might change in the interim.
