1. Look For Sales
One thing that people will sometimes do when they're looking to paint their attic is to just rush into the project without taking the time to see where they might find the necessary tools and things like paint and primer.
When you just go to the first store that happens to have everything you need, you may not realize that there are other places that can have some of the things on sale or even just discounted for other reason.
Take your time and shop around and you will find that you can bring down the price of your attic painting project just by considering that there are many sources you can use for your attic painting project needs.
2. Plan Out The Project
When you jump into something like an attic painting project without any regard to when you are going to be doing things and how, it's entirely possible that you are going to spend a lot more time doing it than necessary -- and you may even find yourself spending more on materials you won't actually use for the project.
By making the time to do things like measuring the spaces that you are going to be painting, you'll be able to calculate how much space there will be to paint and as such and so know how much paint and primer to buy.

3. Primer First
You may think that if you use primer before your first coat of paint, you're still going to be spending about the same amount of money because you have to buy primer as well as paint.

Additionally, primer will help to get your paint to stay on the surfaces that you are painting for a longer period of time, and so you will not have to do a new painting project for a longer period of time.

4. Use Higher Quality Paint
Your first inclination may be to get paint that is in perhaps an area of the store for lower priced materials but this is not always going to work out for you as far as the long term cost of the painting project.
If you make use of paint that is of lesser quality, for example (and not good paint that just happens to be discounted for some reason, as mentioned above) it's entirely possible that you will find yourself with a project that looks worse for the wear in a shorter period of time than had you gotten a better quality paint from the onset.
