Bedroom Accent Wall Painting Tips In Scappoose, OR
In looking to get a better looking bedroom, it's quite possible that you are going to want to turn to the walls -- or in this case, the one singular wall best suited to be an accent wall.
Even if you and family are the only ones who are going to appreciate the aesthetics of an accent wall in a room like a bedroom, it can certainly make the room look nicer.
With that being the case, let's have a look at some bedroom accent wall painting tips that you may not know about that are going to make for a better looking accent wall.
1. Making Use Of A Proper Color
One thing that you're going to want to make sure that you do when you're looking to paint your accent wall is to be certain that the color that you have chosen for the accent color is a good and proper one.
Seeing as it's your bedroom and the color that looks good is ultimately what matters, but what fundamentally makes an accent wall is that it is distinguished from the other walls in the room and so if the color you choose is too similar to the ones already there you will not really have made an accent wall.
Make sure that your color is contrasting in some way with the other walls and that way you will be able to look at the accent wall and confidently say that you have really made a good accent wall.
2... Clean Before You Start
Though sometimes you will look at a wall that you are about to paint and think that since you are ultimately applying paint it doesn't matter the extent to which you clean it first, you should remember that paint mixed with dirt or grime is just going to make painted grime or dirt.
The best thing that you're going to be able to do in terms of preparing your surface is going to be to make sure that you have fully cleaned it, insofar as you do not want to have any dirt or grime on that surface prior to allowing any paint or primer to get on it.
Though sometimes you are going to be able to clean a wall that you will want to paint using dry methods, sometimes you will need to use a damp cloth or cleaning liquids and that will mean you will need to let the surface dry before continuing, as we will explain later in this article.
3.Gently Sand The Surface
Though you may have learned that there is some benefit to be gained by sanding the surface of the wall that is going to be painted, that does not mean that you need to roughly sand the wall.
Indeed, this kind of action may end up doing more damage to your wall that is to be painted than good and end up with you having a wall that is uneven rather than being smooth.
Make sure that you are gentle in sanding your future accent wall and thus you will find that you have a surface that is more smooth and ready to take on the primer and paint that you will apply as part of your painting project.
4. Let Surfaces Dry Before Applying The Next Coat
Lastly, remember that any time you have a surface that will be painted and that surface is not fully dry, it's not quite the time to move onto the next step in the painting process.
You have to let surfaces dry after any such step, whether it's after cleaning or after you apply a coat of paint or primer -- doing otherwise will cause irreparable damage to the painting process.
