Bathroom Painting: Signs It's Time For A Refresh In St. Helens, OR

Your bathroom may be one of the most important rooms in the home -- depending on if you have more than one or not, it's certainly a room that gets used at least once a day.

If it should happen that you want it to look nicer, you could think about painting the room -- but it's not always obvious when it's necessary to paint your bathroom.

Let's have a look at some signs that it's time for a refresh when it comes to painting your bathroom and keeping it looking its best.

1. It's Been Quite A Few Years Since You Painted

One thing that is a sure sign that it's time for you to paint your bathroom is if it has been a number of years since the last time the room was painted.

It's entirely possible that you aren't the original homeowner and that you moved into a home without having any knowledge of how long it had been since the room was painted.

However, if you're not certain how long it's been since you last painted your bathroom (or how long it had been since the previous owner or owners had it painted, it's quite possible that just by giving the walls a proper gander that you can determine that it has been long enough!

2. You Made A Mistake In Color Choice

Though of course, we may know what we want when we are painting our interior walls, that doesn't mean that every single choice that we make is necessarily going to be the correct one.

Alternatively, it's quite possible that it used to be just fine (the color or colors that you chose) but as time passed and you changed as a person, you came to realize that the color or colors no longer represent who you are or what you like in the bathroom as far as the wall colors go.

The good news is that it's quite easy to make a change in that choice -- all that you need to do is to make the time to paint your bathroom.

3. You're Thinking Of Selling Your Home

As a homeowner, you may think that hot pink is the way to go when it comes to having your bathroom -- and since the bathroom is yours, that's entirely your right as a homeowner.

However, suppose you are thinking that you are going to put your home on the market anytime soon. In that case, you should think twice about the color or colors that you choose for your bathroom because people who are purchasing homes are likely not going to be so excited to see a hot pink bathroom when they are looking at the listing for your home online.

Consult with a realtor and you will find out what color or colors are and consider painting your bathroom with the recommended color or colors.

4. There's A Lot Of Surface Damage To Your Walls

As nice as your bathroom may look and as good as the color selection may well be, if you find that there is a lot of damage that has been done to your walls it is quite possible that you'll need to paint... after you fix the damage to your walls, that is.

The good thing about this is that if you like the color or colors that are on your walls, there's nothing stopping you from going back to those exact colors.

The important thing to note here is that you have to make sure that you have properly repaired the damage done to your walls as well as sanding the surfaces to be painted so that the walls are smooth before you paint them.
